About:
The Harper Church has been a part of the Harper community since 1854, over 160 years, and was closed in 2012. The Harper congregation of believers believed that the community still needed their church as a lighthouse of faith, hope and love in Jesus Christ. They united in prayer and faith to purchase the church, believing that it was God’s will for the community of Harper. Within 1 year, the congregation was able to purchase the church and Harper Community church was reborn.
Harper Community Church’s mission is the “Renewing of faith, hope and love in Jesus Christ our Lord.” In all prayer and faith, the church will serve God in the community of Harper and the surrounding communities.
We Believe:
That God is the Eternal King. He is infinite, unchangeable Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, goodness, justice, power and love. From all eternity, He exists as the One Living and True God in three persons of one substance, equal in power and glory: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
That God’s Kingdom is everlasting. From His throne, through His Son, His Eternal word, God created, upholds and governs all that exists: The heavenly places, the angelic hosts, the universe, the earth, every living thing and mankind. God created all things good.
That Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.
That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, that our justification is made sure by His literal, bodily resurrection from the dead, and that His name and work are our sole means of salvation.
That the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, where He is exalted at the right hand of God above all power and dominion, and ministers as our High Priest and Intercessor.
